Indian Cove Campground, Joshua Tree Park, CA, USA
50 miles from Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs and close to Joshua Tree National Park – the perfect Desert Campground.
Surrounded by Magic Rocks -monzogranites- more than 100 millions of years old, Indian Cove Campground radiates pure energy. Idle in the shade of these monumental rock formations or if you’re more the active type try yourself in bouldering.
When night comes listen to the desert calmness under a multi–million–dollar sky full of light.
What else is there:
Twenty Nine Palms Marine base is about 10 miles away and there is some talk about Zombie soldiers experimenting with sleep deprivation techniques before there deployment to Iraq, wandering around in stupors in the Joshua Park area…
Palm Springs is the premier Desert location – sunshine guaranteed. Lots of very modernistic buildings including the Richard Neutra Kaufmann House the superfamous John Lautner Elrod house and many very 70ish motels, bars, dinners and coffeeshops make it a popular spot for retirees and design addicts alike.
Cultivated golf courses, gated communities and hotels with green lawn stay in sharp contrast to the rugged superdry stone desert surrounding it.
Also great Desert Hot Springs for soaking in hot pools under a burning desert sun – get grilled and cooked at the same time.
